A rare urban subject from me. Painted on a trip to Rwanda, I tried my best to capture the blazing intensity of the African sun, but I don't think I really got it.
I like the scene and your palette. When were you in Rwanda?

December 2013. I was the first painter many of the people there had ever seen.
I had one gentleman look at one of my paintings on my easel, look at the scene I was painting, and point to a hill side in the distance saying "my house is there".
It was a tough trip, but very rewarding.
Great story Dave; and yes, I can feel the heat.....nice washes of color.
I get the sense of very bright sun and heat.

This is quite appealing. Nice rhythm created by the wash line and there is a freshness to the colours that suits the compositions n.
Thanks for the reply and the story, Dave.

I can almost smell that fresh wash as it dries in the hot sun.
A super 'moment in time' painted.

Wonderful work, and how cool to be the first painter people had ever seen!
