This is a sketch based on a Velazquez portrait. At present I am not into slow, methodical painting, but rapid and broad.

I quite like them too! I have noticed that sometimes us newbies don't get much feedback. Im hanging in there. Once everyone knows Im a serious artist I'm sure I'll get more feedback than I have so far.

Hello Ural, I too am in Ga but North in the mountains foothills. Dawsonville.. Are you snowed in and painting?

Vermillion237, are you painting ALL wet on wet? Or coming back in later with some color? I really like the body in your work , I have trouble when painting like this with losing my colors...they just sink in to the next!

Yes...we are in lots of snow, however it means I can't go anywhere so time is being spent in the studio with the Mona Lisa I am struggling with! At least I am giving it my best effort! It's posted on this site so easy to find...your advice would be appreciated! Hope you guys stay out of this messy weather!

The first does look like wet on wet, very nice!
