Not a good sketch, a very quick one of a moving student working ... so different positions got jumbled and she looks hunchbacked! But I thought I should start a new thread for sketches as autumn is turning to winter :(

Grey Tombow pen and conte pencil.

Nice! What kind of marker did you use? I like the light grey tones.

One of those dual ended Tombow pens with light grey ink Joan and a scribble of conte pencil for the darkest parts. Thank you both :)

A very overdue Christmas present. Last year, just before Christmas my daughter asked for a painting of St Ives - large and with a list of requirements, like showing the beach and buildings, 'In my illustrational style', her family on the beach - to be flattering of all of them

So I said ok but she'd have to wait - I didn't actually mean a whole year but it worked out that way. It's about 25/26 inches wide. Just hoping she likes it! She saw it partly done and liked it but I hadn't put the family in then or developed it as far.

I worked from a sketch and several photos from the hill across the bay and distorted the curve to make a composition that curved round, so it takes artistic licence and liberties!

Me too!

My mother has been in and out of hospital following a fall and I simply haven't had time to paint :(.

So I'm using an old doodle as my Happy Christmas to you all. Derwent metallic pencils on their black sketchbook.

Thanks :). Hope everyone enjoyed Christmas :)

A friend did a scratch board drawing, which made me think of playing :). So I bought some with copper instead of white. Quite a gold copper. A3 size

I haven't used this since school! So I've been experimenting to see what I can do with it. I may add some marks in oil paint too in a deep blue/violet?

I've never played with scratchboard before. Like the copper and black contrast.

This is so cool. It looks like a fish to me. You have such artistic imagination. The other one, should be hanging on someone's wall. Beautiful.
