View Full Version : Tree Frogs

I got a request from a friend to do a painting of frogs. She didn't specify which frogs, there are many verities, so I choose the most colorful ones
I could find. These two I found on Google Images, not together, but individually and thought they would work great together.
Then, because I don't have any jungle pictures in my files, I searched for
Costa Rica Jungle, to get an idea what jungle plants might work for me.
So here is the finished, I think, piece. Acrylic on gallery canvas, 12 x 24.
I haven't varnished it yet, waiting for it to cure a week or so.
C & C welcome

Mary those are so cute and delightfully painted. I love tree frogs. We had them in a tree in our garden in South Africa but they certainly kept us awake!!!!

Thank you all for stopping by and taking the time to comment. It always helps encourage one to keep doing what they love.
This was a fun piece to work on and I may just do more of these charming little creatures.

I like this. The composition and design have a kind of Art nouveau feel.

They look so cute. Boy, are they loud! We have them in the trees all around the house. I love listening to them and you've made them look so appealing.
They are certainly colorful little critters. I like the composition you've put together. Your friend should be pleased.

Thank you ladies for looking at my finished piece and your nice compliments.
My client, a young woman whom I've know since the day she was born, was beyond thrilled with her painting. She had been looking for a painting of frogs, her collection item, for years. Here's her comments.
"By one of the great, talented, woman whom I have the honor to say was a great part of my life! Thank you, Mary Bales, you've made a dream come true!"
How sweet is that and how pleased I am to have "made her dream come true". What could be better.
Mary: great job and your friend will love the painting. Well done.
