View Full Version : altering a plastic cover

I've been wanting to alter the plastic cover of my art journal but have NO idea what glue to start with. I know PVA and glue sticks won't stick, but will spray adhesive? or do I make the cover separately and contact it on? Any advice will help!

The kind of glue depends on the kind of plastic. And you have to consider what you are adhering to the plastic if the glue will bond properly to it as well. First suggestion, "gorilla glue". But, no guarantees.

Glad that worked! I was wondering about this from the point I read your post, what glue would do that. Plastic's a funny substance. Glad you found something that does work. I might have tried something like Contact paper wrapped around as a base and then glued onto the Contact paper. Or do an entire design in cutout pieces of Contact paper, get several values and hues of wood grain and make it look like wood inlay.
