I have always wanted to paint the geese on the marshes and have a lot of sketches. The final inspiration came after visiting a beautiful bird sanctuary in France. It is on gallery-wrapped canvas , painted with Liquitex Heavy Bodied acrylics and is 40 cms x 80 cms. Thanks for looking.

Absolutely beautiful, Chammi. I like your choice of palette. The pale blue of the water and sky at the top of the canvas and the peach of the balance of the sky are great complements. I like the rhythm you have developed among the birds as well. Another real beauty.

Beautifully done. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed this one but the different movements of the birds was a challenge

Howard, thanks a lot. Your opinion is always important to me. The 'landing' did not work out the first time. I had to fiddle around a little with it.

If you are from NJ, the Canadian Geese have been a problem for years. I have a new found sense of their beauty. Wonderful painting. Felt like I was there. Rhoda

Really lovely. I've learned to dislike the Canada geese but both their landings and take offs are inspiring. Your composition is wonderful and gives one the proper sense of action without being an exact sequence. Very nice work indeed.

I like everything about this! To me, the sky gives that fall feeling. The geese are very well done and the water just glistens. Super painting!!

Beautiful colors and subject matter (geese). I love how you have drawn them at different moments between landing and take off. The softness and the grace is well painted.

Many thanks Marion. I enjoy this geese. There is something so 'proud' about them.

I like this looser style. I find this really appealing. The touches of gold light on the tips of the grass, is perfect.

Wonderful painting I love the splash the landing goose is making and the others hovering overhead.

Thank you very much Purple. The 'splash' took a little time to get right!!

Many thanks Virginia. I am enjoying the looser style. I feel a lot freer in my work at the moment . Of course, I still have to do portraits of pets in a more realistic way (sigh!!)

Chammi, when I lived in Chicago they were a real nuisance! They stopped traffic during rush hour walking in the streets, they nested around commercial buildings and then attacked you as you tried to go to your office. They left a poopy mess everywhere and they stopped migrating and just stayed year round. They were pretty nasty tempered and kept the golf courses and parks covered in poo.

Beautiful painting !!!

You can practically hear the sudden splash shattering the silence.

Chammi, this painting is so lovely for all of the above reasons.
I tried something similar with birds landing but was unsuccessful.
A lot of joy in this one!
