View Full Version : Paris Flower Shop Painting

Hi All,

I finished a large painting (36 by 48 inches) last week, made in acrylic on canvas. The subject is a flower shop in the streets of Paris, based on a photo I took there last year.

The vacation was magical, and I wanted to take in the feeling of joy that I had being there. Coincidently, it was also where I got engaged.

I used many of my Golden Heavy Body acrylics, but also a few tubes of Sennelier acrylics which I bought in the flagship shop in Paris. They were fantastic. One of them is the darker red in the background of the bench.

I quite love this painting, and so does my fiancÚ, but I wanted to get your opinions on it.

This is beautifully done. The colors are vibrant and the angle of the drawing and the drawing itself are first rate. Great job!

I like it too, very much! So rich!
It conveys the feeling I also had about those flowers stalls and shops in Paris - brought back memories!

Congratulations on the engagement - and welcome back here, it's been a long time!

Charlie's Mum - Thanks! It's been a long time indeed. This was the first painting I finished for myself this year (I did a small commissioned work earlier). I wish I had more time to dedicate to painting.
gaykir - These are wonderful memories, and this painting will always remind me of that time.
