Denver, as always...wow!! Reminds me of my great grandparents house. One little question? Wouldn't the barn roof show just a bit from that angle? unless it fell out completely?

It's another slice of time Denver and very appealing.

Do you print greetings cards from these?, they'd make good ones!:)

Susan you had me stumped for a minute about the roof but after I thought about it I can see what you were seeing. I mint this to be a full frontal view of the garage but I can see that it almost looks like the side in witch case there would be some roof showing. Thanks for your C&C Susan

Being a hand-quilter, my eye was drawn immediately to the quilt! I can spot them a mile away  I think this is great! It would be cool to use a quilt pattern that relates to the painting somehow. There are quilt patterns for just about anything: "Hole in the Barn Door," "Grandma's Flower Garden," and tons of tree patterns!

The quilt in your painting is "so close" to "Dresden Plate" (also called Grandmother's Sunburst, Friendship Ring, Aster, Dahlia and Sunflower) it wouldn't take much to add a few different color 'petals' to what you have painted and it'd be done. That is, if you want to do so.

It's interesting to note that a lot of Dresden Plate quilts, made during the 20's and 30's, were made with "feed sacks." Manufacturers noticed women making household items with the feed sacks and started to have the feed sacks printed in bright colors often with small floral prints. My aunts remember going to the feed store with their dad to help pick out 'matching' feed sacks as it took 2 or 3 to make a dress.

Your painting is so "Americana" and wonderfully nostalgic! Great Job!

I remember those feed sacks very well my aunt and uncle ran a dairy farm for several years and got feed in those. I remember my cousins warring dresses made from them.
