Hi everyone! This is me current project, I've been working on it for a few days now. It is 12x20, this is just a zoomed in picture. I'm taking a picture of it every 10 minutes or so, I'm planning on making a timelaps video. CC welcome!
What a fantastic start, Kendall! Stunning!

Thanks for the love! Here's my update...
Finished the leg and moving onto the shell now. Not sure how I'm going to tackle it. Thinking I'll scratch with steel wool until white and then ink over it.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to best ink an even coat of gray?

I think I'm finally done. CC welcome!
Also, I want to put this up for sale, but I don't know how much to charge. It took me upwards of 50 hours of work and it is 12x20. How much would you expect to pay for a board like this?

That is just spectacular!

I made a timelapse video of scratching this out. I want to do it with a tripod set up and have it take a lot more photos. This is just my first try :)

This is a gorgeous piece. You made small work of that shell, didn't you!? Fantastic.

He's wonderful Kendall! Great job!
As for pricing it, you know what a challenge it is to price work and there are so many factors involved, but I'll throw a number out there: $1000 for this guy. Established scratchboard artists with a following and consistent sales of originals would charge much to a lot more.
It might help to take a look at the ISSA exhibition catalog from this year, sizes and prices are listed, you can do some calculating.
There have also been a few threads discussing pricing in the scratchboard artists' group on Facebook, these might help as well:

As for prices... Ann has good info. I would also consider prints to help offset your time. That's helped me on some pieces where I've invested hours and hours.
