A friend posted this fabulous photo of Bourbon Street in New Orleans and I just love the colours!

I'm working on a 10x8" box canvas, eventually using acrylics from Royal & Langnickle. I think it'll be more an impression of the scene rather than massively detailed. Progress so far has been to draw in perspective lines.

Why doesn't the line on the left side of the sidewalk go to the vanishing point?

Having grown up in New Orleans, and while admitting the many weirdnesses of Bourbon Street, I must testify that the sidewalks of Bourbon Street do follow the laws of perspective!!

One of your perspective lines representing the sidewalk does not end at the vanishing point. Although it appears not to in the photograph, since a sidewalk edges are parallel, both lines would end at the same vanishing point. All of your lines in this view will be either vertical of diagonal to that single vanishing point.
