This is my newest. Colors appear to be pretty much right on. I started this a while ago and just finished a few minutes ago. This will be my entry into the Draft Horse Classic.
Blue Moon, 18x14, FG brush, sewing needle, black and blue ampersand inks.

Very striking with so much whiteness, the touch of coloring adds to it. This should do well in the show. Good luck.

Sue, this is stunning! I imagine all those angular, long legs must have been quite a challenge! Excellent work!

lolol, thanks, Jenna! Yes, gangly legs are quite the challenge. :)
Thank you so much, Linda!
Trilby, thank you so much for the luck and the sweet comment!

Exceptional work Sue. The composition and overall image is striking. Good luck with the show.

I'm glad you entered something Sue! I look forward to seeing this gangly-legged little one in the show.

I absolutely love this Sue

Thank you Harry!!!
Ann, I did not qualify for the miniature so had to classify it as "Anything Goes". Irks me to no end. I emailed them several days ago as to their best classification of scratchboard and no one answered me. I could find no where how and when they notify you. Do you know?

Be glad they have an "Anything Goes" this year! It's a new category. I've entered in the Miniature category in the past and even in Pen & Ink prior to that when I was working with ink on white boards. Shirley and I spoke to the show manager last year to encourage her to actually use the word "scratchboard" for future shows, but I don't know if that will ever happen. I'm going to enter one scratchboard piece in Miniature and another in Anything Goes (we'll see if it gets moved to Mini - based on size, it fits the Mini category, but based on medium, it's Anything Goes).
You'll receive a letter regarding acceptance. I can't recall, but I think those usually go out within 3 weeks from the deadline.

Thanks! So we will be competing, huh.....hmmmmmm, maybe I will withdraw...NOT, lolol.
When I asked them about which category to put it in, I also mentioned that they needed a scratchboard one.....;)

I suspect my Anything Goes may get moved to Mini - we'll just have to see - they'll make the call. Fingers crossed ALL of our scratchboards get in, I know Shirley is entering also.
Thanks for pushing our scratchboard agenda too, Sue!

Just gorgeous with the high contrast Sue. :)

Thanks so much, Netta!!!
Ann, I push it every chance I get. I have entered some festivals calling them acrylics (no other category) since I use acrylic inks on them. That got me accepted, but that was festivals, not an exhibition.

That's a really different piece, and quite stunning Sue.

Beautiful. I love the fluidity of the horse's pose. You captured a feeling of relaxation here. Love it.
