Beautiful work,i think the flowers have the same value ,what would help is shadows that the petal would be casting .

Thanks, Maria, Pat and Maureen. This is a companion to one titled "10 Orchids" for my wife's sitting room.

Gorgeous! I saw this in Pastel Forum and found it utterly lovely. The absence of shadows on the pale and white petals was strange, but I thought it might be artistic and deliberate. They have such clear precision and hue shifts that I was pretty sure your idea was to make them decorative rather than literal, also the flat background helped give the impression you didn't shade them on purpose.

Rob, thanks for the comments. I tried to include shadows where appropriate but maybe they are too subtle.

A comment about lack of shadows for Querin and Rob. I composed it from three different photos so there were no shadows cast, however, I should have realized there would be shadows and added them. Thanks for the observations and comments.

Yes I also agree about the lack of shadows. If you decide to put them in, be careful that they all come from the same light source. You could put an arrow, off your painting, to remind you where the light is coming from, so your shadows will be consistent.
Its a beautiful painting the way it is, but some shadows would make it magnificent!
