I really like the colors in your first portrait. The second one ,those different colors on skin, I don't care for. My own personal thoughts. Very nice face of the little boy.

Thanks for looking Lucy! I am into new and different these days. May husband agrees with you. Just can't get into e strange colors.

I had done a portrait of him for his mom a while ago and I when I was doing it she just gave me all her albums because she couldn't decide. I saw this among many others. She chose another but I told her I really loved this one and planned on doing it anyway. That was a few years ago so I emailed her a copy (an ex boss and friend) and when she opened it she said she had tears in her eyes because she said this expressed a side of him that not everyone sees. She said he had a very old soul. But she made my day.

Great portrait. I also prefer the 1st, but maybe the strong warms and cools just don't fit this particular person. I wouldn't give up on pushing the colors.
