This is oils on paper (I forget the paper that I used as it was some time ago). Once the paint hit the paper, there was almost no spreading it around, so it was tough to work with. Thanks for taking a peek :)

I like the dramatic shadows on the horse's head, nice flowing mane too.

Interesting horse - looks kind of medieval or fantasyish - wouldnt mind seeing it a bit bigger, looks powerfull

Your painting is lovely, lots of detail and emotion.

I don´t mean to nitpick, but friesians are only black, and this horse is looking more grey to me; it looks like what you´ve actually painted is an andalusian.

very beautiful, though i also would like to see a bigger photo. the pose is very dynamic, great pic!
i agree with fapcat though, fresians are always black and much heavier built then the horse you have painted. brilliant work though, whatever he is;) :)

Lovely job, what size?

This looks like it's from a photo of an Andalusian by Vavra (famous photographer who is very diligent about his copyrights - just a caution;) )

I do believe this was from one of Vavra's, and thank you so much for the reminder (copyrights)! I called it a Freisian, but it is in fact an Andalusian. Thank you.

Look to me like we love the same style, the flared nostrils, manes a flyin!!

Nice work; would like to see it in person :D.

Really nice!
I'm not an expert on horse breeds so I cant comment in that respect but I can certainly appreciate the vibrancy and dynamism of this work and, from what I can see, the detail looks as though it has been rendered beautifully. Would love to see it larger/closer.

Well done!
