Thanks JellyBead :)
Carol, thanks and yes the paper is white at least irl :) To be honest, I didn't even notice the pinkiness of the paper in the photo until you mentioned it. :)
Thank you Bhavani :)

It's a very lovely floral painting Jaana but it's more 'floral' than 'botanical'.
Botanical painting is extremely precise and definitive of the plant - including other aspects such as buds, separate leaves, seedheads etc.
There are definitions and resources of Botanical art in our Resources thread if you want to pursue it:)

But Floral painting is most widely offered in this forum.:) so do join us by sharing more as you paint them!
We also have he monthly challenge thread, The Plant Parade to which you'd be very welcome!

Thanks for the clarification Maureen, really appreciate you taking the time to critique for me. :) I'll pop on over and read that resource you mentioned.

Thanks Vivien :)

I like it, precisely because it isn't quite botanical. To me, it seems to have more life, probably because of the depth of color...

Thanks Lea :) Appreciate your input.
Maureen, I read through the resource page. What an awesome pile of info!
I've been fiddling around in my notebook and learning heaps. I'll post a pic later when I've a bit more time. Organizing my daughters 21st party at present...

Glad to help Joana!:)

I agree Lea! But Botanical art is for a very specific purpose, so has to be 'tight' and very precise ....... it illustrates a plant far better than photographs do and shows all aspects of a plant's life on one page.
An art in itself!:)
