Not sure if this painting works or not...it was a bear. You know how some happen easily and some well not so much...this was/is one of those. I am still not sure it works....would appreciate some honest opinions.

I think it's stunning, the colors are so rich and really compliment one another, it's not as many colors as your usual's..but I think it's a good thing to have a variety as there are so many different tastes...and the golden color just pops out! I like it!

I agree, wouldn't change a thing. Has nice depth.

reminds of the ground of the Aegean sea where I was on vacation last summer: crystal clear and with the same colours
Wonderful painting

As it stands now I think its good, but it doesn't have that " wow factor" that some of your other pieces have. I would be inclined to push it further by adding something more to this piece...hope that helps.

Thank you for all of the comments. I do appreciate all views and perspectives offered. Sometimes I need validation and or honest criticism...to get a grip on the painting and figure out I really feel about it.

Like DaveFriend's paintings, I see at least a dozen 'critters' in this painting. Some are vaguely humanoid, some fantasy, some organic.
I feel like this is looking in the mind of a dreaming child
one of your best,
more than just a bunch of pretty colors and patterns,
this one is alive

Wonderful colors as always, very aquatic, and the snake-like forms are so interesting as well. I like it fine as it is. One thing I did notice is that my eye kept going to that green circle in the middle left, I don't know why. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Perhaps if you want the eye to travel upward more toward the center, you could add another circle closer to the center? Just a thought.
