The first time I opened this I laughed and even though I knew what to expect the second time round I still laughed. What a truly wonderful painting, Artby. I keep thinking he is about to jump out of the computer at me he seems so real.

Now THIS is a case where the title is important to the piece. Beautifully painted and very evocative.

Thanks. I was shooting for whimsical with a hint of dread. I didn't want to create the typical Pinocchio nose, so to draw attention to it I distorted the nose in a sort of abstract way.

What a nice surprise when I opened the thread. Funny, and yeah...a tad dark (right up my alley). I like the texture in your work, too. I can also imagine this one done bigger...almost lifesized...head to head and eyeball to eyeball.
He jumps off the picture plane. Reminds me of Caravaggio and some of Hals' work.
