I'm even stuck for words on this one. It's wicked. It's the little something that has me totally intrigued!

Hey Greggo and Nikki, thanks. I want to keep the image ambiguous and have the viewer complete their own interpretation. The title could be expanded: "Ruby Rose lived north of Memphis, so far north it snowed each day. It was a place so cold all colors faded to shades of blues."

And she blew the blue, until blue, until her lips turned red...................

I like this! Good faces always get me...

Part of the painting I'm working on now has a japanese woman's face in a mask. She has little painted red lips and a white bit of clothing around her neck, too. Although mine has no name and no location...I think we're sharing a similar vibe at the moment...:)

This is SO cool. I love the way she looks like a bronze statue until you see that amazing mouth. I say 'until' because I scrolled it down from the top. Maybe that's a whole new concept in painting - paintings that scroll!

This is so beyond delightful! I was stunned and felt the imposition into my personal space by your Ruby Rose. I do not know what to think, whether she is at rest and awaiting burial or if she will open her eyes and scare the pudding out of me at any second.

Very powerful and a keeper. You don't sell this one!

Thanks Dave. I guess the ambiguity is working. I have my thoughts but that would ruin the fun. P.S. Not selling a painting is an easy request to keep.

I am looking forward to seeing your parallel painting.

...P.S. Not selling a painting is an easy request to keep.I have read that an artist should keep back some works for their own collection, works from different periods and series. Don't know if it is money in the bank today but maybe later  and there are just certain paintings that are not meant to be set free.

Aaaaah, that Ruby! you don't know if you want to hug her or be repulsed by her. Either way her character OOZES beyond the canvas and straight into the viewers world. LOVE IT.

This face, this Ruby Rose has such presence, like a feminine Buddha - Ruby Rose Budhett(?)...Very powerful, very mysterious. and mysteriously inspiring.

Love the face! It's so cute, but dark, and raises so many questions, it's very well rounded (no pun intended) piece.

I relish the repartee on this forum.
