While I'm not new to using oils it's been 6 years since I touched them. My goal for the last two months was to figure out a way of painting with them again that suites my needs. I think I've found it after doing this painting, it just felt more engaging and fun to create than the last 8 paintings I did this year (although one was close to this style). Very thin layers of paint, lots of mushing it together and mixing it on the board, scratching and scraping it and lots of thinner to get the paint moving. 99% palette knife painting with 1% brush work to create an under painting for the facial features so they don't get lost.

Lots of impact and a sort of disturbing effect for me, very good title IMHO.
