Hi, here's something I did from a photo of mine. I've had this square, red metal frame in my closet for a while, and I decided that maybe I should just start something with it in mind. Yeah, backwards, but I buy frames in thrift stores, so...

Anyway, I'd love any input any of you might have. I did this in art rage, mostly oil paints. The flower is on a separate layer, so that I could work go back and forth working on the background to give it that sense of light. I'm attaching the painting and then my reference photo.

Again, and C&Cs are always welcome.

Wonderful colour and light! The only thing bothering me is the texture on the petal at the top of the flower, it seems out of place.

Don't worry, I have also bought frames and now I have to figure out what would look good in them lol.

I love the light! I want to learn to do light like that ~ more painterly. I'm strung so tight.
Great job!

Very nicely done Elaine. Don't worry I have done that as well, created a picture to suit a frame that I already had.
