Emphasize sky by adjusting color and layers. Gimp_2.8.10. source: my photo of a nearby lake.

I like the contrast of the lake. The water is excellent and far away trees. The fuzzy tree in for ground NO...It takes away from the whole picture. You could just put in a few branches with some visable leaves on them. I know what you were trying to do here. But the dark blotch of a tree takes away from the rest. Other wise I really do like the painting. :)

Thanks Lucy. The tree branches bothered me too. Everything I tried got worse so I just blurred them and simplified the shape. I will try what you suggested. I just missed the horizon being up on the left. Too many years spent in a canoe?

Thinner branches and straighter horizon look better. Thanks. Good call.
