I tend to get to a certain point in a painting and usually have no ideas on how to go further. I wouldn't say it's unfinished, but I'm looking to abstract the figure more without going really crazy like scribbling on top of it or adding tons of lines and gestures. Well, maybe some of those would help, but it's a hard thing to figure out.

Anyway, still trying to abstract the figure or make a painting with more emotional feelings instead of 'here is a person'.

the scrunch of a shoulder
the angle of the mouth
the eyes, always the eyes
the line of the spine
the tilt of the neck
what do the hands say

not the jewelry
not the dress
not the hair

it is all in the body language

get that right and anything else you do is just adding to the perfection.

and she is pretty close,
a little clearer message with the eyes
perhaps

and I love the board

I LOVE the dress, her stance, it says a lot. I think her hair, and perhaps her face could do with a little tweak, but honestly I think its almost done..:)
