a human or a seal pup?
instantly felt sadness
like one of those Humane Society ads on TV
or request to help starving children.
or ET on a cold morning crying to return home
and I personally would not add or change anything

Thank you Birdhs. This painting is for my mother. I can hear her saying, "For goodness sake that is hideous!" She got Raynaud's Phenomenon. Possibly from chiselling marble for too many years.

This is powerful. I'd suggest to frame it nicely...

Just my opinion
You need to go to the beach, put some sunshine in your life, look at flowers and children, then think of happy and beautiful things. Then paint those thoughts:heart:

Joseph, I don't need to go to the beach to find happiness. Today a very strange thing happened. My neighbour was digging in her garden today and found a very strange rusty object. So she picked it up and put it on her bench. Having finished what she was doing she decided to pick it up again and clean it off. After some thought she looked it up on line and realised that thing she had been holding was a World War II hand grenade just waiting to explode. She called the police and the bomb squad came and I could hear them detonate it from my house which is a good 10 minute walk away. Goodness, she could have died............. There is definitely a painting there don't you think......................

Wonderful and scarey story - love the critter and the happy ending!
Gardeners, before you dig call - 1-800-is this a bomb?

Thank you Dave. Apparently, the reason for the strange finding is that some Irish soldiers were posted abroad at this time and they brought grenades home as souvenirs. These finds are few and far between thank goodness.

Wonderful and sad. Wonderful in that you captured the emotion and expression of sadness so well. Very powerful as it is; I would suggest to not change a thing about it.
