I recently retired and I now have a ton of time (To paint of course) and I'm having so much fun. This is a painting I've wanted to do for a while but haven't been able to figure out how to approach it. It's done in Painter X3 in pastels. All comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking!

Terrific work. You have achieved that rusty look and the colors are wonderful.

I love it! There's lots of color in there which gives us the soft, aged metal patina.
I've been noticing at a few rusted shells of pickup trucks lately on the side of the road. I've heard them calling, but haven't actually gotten the pictures and painted, but B'anna, I think you are inspiring me!

The grittiness of the pastels works very well here. I wonder if you softened some of the edges of the greenery if that might enhance the texture of the weathered metal...?

I'm a sucker for pastels so this caught my eye. Lovely colors and looks dynamic too. What is interesting to me is that this looks very fluid in motion, but still quite tight. Wonderful work.

Sorry, but I've been away reclaiming my studio! (hubby stole it about 6 years ago and now that I'm retired, I kicked him out) Thanks everyone for looking and for the wonderful encouragement.
