Move away wings of sorrow
Please come forth wings of light
Shine on me until tomorrow
Preserve the secrets of the night

Move away wings of sorrow
Please come forth wings of light
Shine on me until tomorrow
Preserve the secrets of the night

And bring forth a heart to rest on me
And shelter thoughts of pain.
To drench my soul with happiness
Such freedom from the rain.

And in my head your home is there
A perch to rest your feathers,
And when such times are looking bleak
I'll protect you there, whatever!

Thank you Hairy for your beautiful words.

And Greggo for yours too. I think it might need a little more work because there are clumps of paint in strange places that I am not sure are working but will have another look at it later. It is difficult painting at night time which is pretty much the only time I have available to paint. But it does make the mornings interesting............

Do I need to make her head look more like a bird cage or does it come across as it is? Suggestions and comments would be really helpful.

Took me a few seconds to see the head. But I like it the way it is, Nikki.

I like the gray/blue and the red off it
another great idea ...the head with a bird cage
thought provoking

It looks muddy to me, which makes the painting appear to be very flat. Adding to the flatness, there’s a lot of texture, but the texture seems to be independent of the painting – there are foreground elements and a separate background, but the texture seems uniform throughout.

It seems like the focus wants to be the red outlined face, but the random white spots are where my eye goes, specifically, my eye gets anchored to the bottom right area of white and then darts to the other white areas.

Thank you SeaCorc for all your comments. I am working on the white parts etc. It actually is not that muddy in real life. If anything it is popping!

I think I am pretty much finished with it now. The title has now changed to "Where the wild things are!" after Maurice Sendak's picture book.

Thanks Jim and Trier.

I would also like to state, as you have probably realised I have changed my name. However, I would much prefer you all to still call me by my real name. Although, Birdhs did make me think that perhaps I should have called myself IBM considering the amount of time I spend on my computer! LOL.
