This is Lucy, my little fat-cheeked cat who is now in Kitty Heaven. She had the ability to tuck herself in between my paints and brushes in the studio without knocking over a single thing. She also managed to lie between the chessmen on the chessboard. All pieces were still standing. I still miss her and thought it was time to paint her portrait. This is done in Liquitex Heavy-bodied Acrylics on acrylic paper and is 20 x 40 cm. Thanks for looking.

What a sweet portrait and tribute to your little Lucy! I love the depth you caught in her eyes and her content expression as she sits tucked between your supplies. Never knocked anything over? Oh, she could have taught my cats (all also in Kitty Heaven now) a thing or two...

So cute! Love the fur, that is awesome, and agree, those eyes have all the contented sweetness in the world in them. Also love the sunny background, fits really well. Beautiful tribute!

What a sweet painting, and a very talented cat.

Except for the chubby cheeks, Lucy looks very much like my long departed grey tabby cat, Hawaii. A really nice tribute to your old friend. The little face is so perfectly painted to bring out her character.

These little cats are so talented - Hawaii could tread her way along shelves filled with bric-a-brac and not disturb a single thing. Whereas if the dog just looked into a room the floor lamps and small pieces of furniture would start to topple over.

She is a cutey. Bet you miss her. Beautiful Tribute!

Oh Chammi, Your little Lucy brought a tear to my eyes! She is lovely! I had a long hair named Phoebe that was my long time companion and used to do the same things your Lucy used to do....just had to be with Mommy in the big middle of whatever I was doing. I lost her a year ago to extreme old age. What a fitting and beautiful tribute to Miss Lucy. Thanks for sharing it. ~Robin

MEREDITH - Thanks a lot. Glad you liked the eyes. They were a challenge. They were so beautiful.

JOCKO - I am so pleased you liked it. Thanks

MONARCHd - Thanks so much for looking. Appreciate the positive feedback.

MICHELLE - I am not sure if she was talented or just extremely fussy about where she put her paws. :D Thanks a lot.

COLIN - Had to laugh at your comment - so true! My little terrier was also a little walking disaster in a fur coat. Hawaii must have been a joy to have around. Many thanks.

RUTHIE - I still miss her. Appreciate your nice words. :)

JIM - Thanks. Good for the sould to have nice feedback.:)

SHANE - Appreciate your taking the time to comment. Glad you you liked it.

MAUREEN - Hi there gf. Lucy was a real softie - a lousy predator! She got so excited when she saw a bird, that she literally squeeked and sang. Bird thought 'stupid cat' and flew off chuckling:lol:

ROBIN - I am so sorry. It must be still very hard for you. When they are gone , they leave such an aching gap. Eventually, the sadness goes and one remembers all the good things. I am happy you liked my little fat-cheeked Lucy girl:)

SUSIE - need that hug and the positive feedback (as you know). Thank you

SANDY - Thank you very much. Appreciate the nice words.

IRIS - Many thanks. Lucy was just a little mixed-moggie but I also thought she was beautiful. Glad you thought so too.

KIM - Thank you very much.

DEREK - Hi there. I was pleased that this worked out okay. When one loves the subject as much as I loved Lucy, things seem to go more smoothly. Thank you.

SUBI - Thank you for those kind words.:)

STEVE - Appreciate you taking the time to give me some nice positive feedback. Thanks a lot.

Sorry to hear that your cat passed, this is pretty cool portrait though, she looks well cosy by your paints and brushes in this. The fur looks great, nicely done, it must have taken some patience, so much detail

Thank you very much Robert and Jean. Robert, the fur did not take as long as my usual work does. I was a little more economical with the brush.:D
