Complete newbie to acrylics here:confused:
I want toframe a piece of art,collage/acrylic,is there a medium or varnish that can be put on a painting so that it does not need glass(it is nearly too large for float glass andhas been painted on bowed plywood).
Could I use GAC100 or similar.?
Thanks in advance

As long as acrylic is sealed it can be displayed without glas - but what is the collage part made from? If hard/metallic/wood/plastic, it should OK but if fabric then the choice would be different ..... there are sprays for fabric to protect them but my fabric collages are under glass.:(
Idylbrush does assemblages, so he's probably the best person to give advice!:)

the collage seems to be pieces of newspaper.
So could I just seal it with GAC100 or is there something else I could use?
Its not my art,but I am trying to convince the artist that glass is a bad idea,it has already been broken once.
Any other advice gratefully accepted.

Have you considered acrylic or plexiglass sheeting. May be a viable option to glass. There is a possibility that the addition of a sealer might change the look of the work and I think that needs some serious consideration. You might ask the artist to make a small piece and seal half of it and see what is agreeable to the two of you.
