I used Corel Painter 12 and Intuos 5. My brushes were mainly oil and acrylic. I wanted to capture the speed and movement of the figure. I model the figure first before I blend and integrate it with my background. All comments and help are appreciated. Thanks.

The image is titled "Ski". I am not able to discern a pair of skis nor the form of ski boots. Is it intended to be a dryland exercise?

To the modelling of the figure: the ratio of calf to thigh looks a bit off. If this is a ski-jumper the glutes seem a bit slender. The Bend at the knee is a bit troublesome.

The brush work is energetic and does convey a sense of movement, but not all of it in the implied direction of the athlete. Also if conveying speed is the goal perhaps a steep downhill tilt to the implied slope would help.

This example might give you some Ideas on selective blurring and stroke angle to achieve the sense of movement that you describehttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/17-Feb-2014/3869-skijump.jpeg

Hi, Arlene. I love the modeling of the figure, the snow spray, the color. But I have to agree that the legs appear static. No tilt or angle to imply downhill motion.
