This is my first post in this forum because this is the first acrylic painting I have attempted. My normal medium is watercolor. Painted on 12 x 16 canvas paper with Matisse acrylic paints. C & C welcome.

beautiful colors! esp. love the reflections on the left and the sky. I wish the land masses weren't in the middle of the canvas.

I think you can tweak it a bit more.. you have a nice start going..
Share more of the sky colors into the water.
the bright blue water section seems out of place and kind of a hard division there.
I'm not sure where the yellow in the water is coming from??
the distant trees could be a little more of a bluer green and maybe greyed a little bit.
The closer center trees can have more highlights like your edge ones do.
pop a little more yellows/oranges/greens in to the grassy close bank and the shore can be tan /clay colored or some color other than that dark (black?)
You might think about bringing the near shoreline at more of an angle lower towards the foreground corner a bit, just for added interest, as you have a large % of water area already. A little more land there and you can add a large tree or a few rocks or just a little meadow.
I hope this is helpful..

Here is a rough digital version of what I was trying to explain..I didn't really get enough of the grey sky colors into the water though..
I added a foggy/mist to help separate the distant trees & shore.

Thanks for the comments, especially Joy. I will use this in my next attempt.
