These are reminiscent of some of the Color Field style artists I studied.
I like your composition tricks and the outlining.

Nice work Trier, like your style.
Glad you saw it in the gesso in "Gesso Tor".
The trees at top of hill are awesomely eerie.

I like the tower in the first one. Very dreamy. Well done!

aquabone - Thanks, you get the early responder prize.

greggo - Thank you. The color blocks were sort of influenced by that Hans Hoffman color palette game that I found in a link somewhere here on WC! Still trying to see if it works.

Patrick - Appreciate the comment.
Here is a second attempt at making something out of that world. "Tor #2"

The first I thought of when seeing Gesso Tor was a Kandinsky influence like from some of the earlier period landscapes. Nicely done.

All three are great. Love your strokes and harmonies.
Very "Derainish" and I love Derain.

First one has great interest and shapes, viewing it as an architectural landscape. The middle has a stained glass format and I like how you varied the values of light in it. Seems much more abstract and I am seeing interesting things coming out from this. Really like it. Also like where you ended up with the last one (Reprise (since no one noticed)). Good stuff keep 'em coming Trier!

Chuck- Thanks for the comment. I like most of early Kandinsky, especially Autumn In Bavaria.

Hairy - Appreciate you comment, thanks. Derain is one of my favorites too.

Chris - Thanks to you also.

Dave - Thanks for the specific observations, valued and appreciated.

Three very different works. Like the use of neutral colours in the first and especially that pink square and the composition of the third one. Cheers,

Phil - Thanks for your interest and comment.

Somehow your post was overlooked the first time around; I am working on Gesso TorTwo and another one that I saw in the gesso.

Rick - Always look forward to your comments, thanks.
