Welcome to the forum!

I particularly like the lighting and colour on/of the foliage her - the whole comp. is very dramatic with the red on the black - nice!

Maureen, thank you for your welcome and your positiv reaction.
It was my first attempt as I normally paint land and seascapes.
Thank you Viv for your reaction.

Well Fred, if you want to do more florals, why not join us in the Plant Parade each month? ... this month's is very colourful (a wow on the black gesso!) ... look near the top of the forum page for the thread.:)

Maureen, as stated before I stepped out of my comfortzone and this is the second time I have done that.
Once a horsehead and now this hanging basket.
The technique is quite different from what I usually do ( wet in wet ) and so are the problems I have met.
To be honest I do not think every month but occasionally ? yes.
If you are interested what I have been doing visit my website http://www.bcdinkeldal.nl and look under the button Schilderen (painting)

Kind regards

Took a look Fred - very nice work  ..... for a person coming from The Netherlands you do a lot of mountainous landscapes!

You should put a link to your website in your signature so others can look also!:)

Thanks for your reaction Maureen.
Our highest " mountain "is approx. 300 m. high.
But if you travel a lot you will get higher.
I have not a clue where my signature is, to put a link to my website.
