A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Pastel retrospective 2013
Project Leader: *Marina*
Relative Difficulty: Irrelevant
Type Restrictions: Painting
Medium: Pastels
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

This project is dedicated to all of your hard work throughout the year, so let's showcase your best!

You may select up to 2 paintings that you painted in 2013 and post them in the "Final Images" of this Project.
Please write a brief description of why you believe these are your best or favourite paintings of 2013, and include the size of the painting, and what it was painted on.

Please post your images in the Gallery Exhibit and post your discussion in the discussion thread. Keep in mind these are finished paintings, so no critiques please!

Thanks for your participation!

(For those of you not familiar with how to comment on all the paintings, here is a tutorial: When you are in the gallery, you will see all the paintings at once. After commenting on the first one, close it out by clicking on the red "x" in the upper right corner. This will take you back to the comment page. Hit your green back button and it will take you back to the Gallery. Repeat for each one you want to comment on.)

Additional Information:

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

Beautiful sky, a lot better than the grey dull skies, we have here in Holland at the moment

Beautiful paintings in this so far! Thank you for starting this project! I love the retrospectives. Hmm... not sure I have anything to put in... hmm.. must check the date on my glittery Pan Pastels duck.

Yes he was in 2013 - barely! I posted him on December 28 so he counts for this. I really didn't paint much in 2013, too much else happened and it was mostly sketches rather than serious paintings. Duck came out well though and was a real advance for me.

Ooh, sorry, I forgot about this! I've uploaded mine now. Not many people taking part this year. I see there are some entries where the images don't appear either. At least not for me.

I cannot remember having seen this one. It is lovely. Where did you take your reference photo, somewhere in the south of Europe? Her pose is so typical for there and also the cat (Greece?).

Great painting

I'm new to pastels but absolutely love the medium now,and your painting is just amazing!
Paintings like this one with strong sunlight patterns and snow scenes are among my favorite as well as backlit paintings.
So I just wanted to let you know that I love, love this painting, and look forward to seeing more of your work?!
