lots of conflicting colors and broken patterns

Delightful to see another Katie Black in here! Love the wild colors. Are those figures and a hat I see? This is more scattered than your usual paintings, not necessarily good or bad, just different. I bet it has an amazing impact irl.
I sense a beautiful chaos somehow.

Thank you greggo
Susan...Thanks, I am trying a new direction for a while, this is the first of a few that I am working on, I should probably mention the blacks have come out a lot darker than they are irl.

I LOVE this! I can tell you what I love most: BLACKS AND PINKS! Sing with me: These are a few of my favorite things...
Those little, thinly-scraped, black lines are wonderful. Bits of blue have really good placement IMO, and the purples. I think you could have done without the cheesecloth-pull, if that in fact is what those are? I could see something done, like a texture you have created with your brush for instance, instead of that which looks like collage, even though I think it's a pull-off (you'd have to clarify)?
But let's say you did something thick there and created something more hand-done, imperfect for texture sake - if that's what you wanted in those particular areas. Don't get me wrong, I am totally nit picking because I do LOVE this. If I had the money, I would buy this as is and put it right where I could see it and live with it every day. That's how much I love this one.

Thanks Arty, I dont know what a cheesecloth-pull is? Maybe you can elaborate.
I'm really pleased you like it, I am very happy with how it looks irl.

Oh gosh... I wish I hadn't pointed out such a tiny little thing such as that because I like it way more than this being an issue.
It's the parts that have the tiny little grid pieces in it, almost like a screen door, or a screen on a window. Maybe not that tight of a weave, but you know what I'm saying now?

YES! Nail on head! This just knocks me out. Great painting, Katie, just great. Probably my favorite. It's beautiful. It must look magnificent in person.

Arty....Ah! I see, one of the reasons I post on here is for honest feedback, so its all good!, Yes I used a plastic sheet with holes in, but truthfully I was unsure about using that at the time, so you have just confirmed what I thought myself.:D

This one IS different for you Katie and I think this style becomes you! I am in love with the colors, the looseness, the whole thing. Like Arty, I could live with this on my wall.

you made the pastels look rich with the added of the purple and black
I like the combo...added depth ..this would look wonderful in that size!
