Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. Below are my garden flowers in a water glass. It's my first efforts and I'm using Manet as a guide. C&C welcome.

Hi Loretta and welcome to the Forum.

I can see Manet's influence in your paintings - both are lovely paintings. Are they oils?
When you post your paintings, could you put the size and the painting medium used? It helps us to visulise your work better.
And maybe post them a bit bigger? They look great paintings but they are so tiny its difficult to see them properly.

Great choice of Manet as a guide. Both lovely paintings with good darks and lights and shadows. Hope to see more of your work soon.

They do look good but difficult to appreciate even at your bigger size - I tried one @ 100dpi and 700p high - this is usually a good size to make your images. (WC allows 800p either dimension)

So do give it a try ..... when photo'ing or scanning the resolution will usually be higher than 100, so re-sizing to that should give a good image.

Lovely pieces! I love the way you manage to suggest the intricacy of rose petals without detailing every line.
