Hi All
Thanks Christine for the great images... I chose the bottle on the shore.
20 x 20 cm oils on cloth covered and gessoed corrugated cardboard... made these a while back and never again.... Wet on wet using palette knife.
C&C most welcome!!!

Very nicely painted Carol - your rendering conveys to me (hope this was your intention) the feeling of frosty clouds in the sky and a frost-bound bottle in the reflections on the ice - wonderful!

Great textures! When you say "never again" - did you not enjoy painting on it?

Thanks for the comments... Barbara.. meant the format ... corrugated cardboard and not the reference!!! Didn't think of --ice-- Kate, but now looking at it it does look icy!!! No brushstrokes... used palette knife...!!!

Very nice knife work, Carol! Knives are so tricky for me to use.
I love your Monet's style brushstroke on the bottle.... lovely.

Great job with this painterly painting. Was just thinking of you and going to send you an email. From your blog I looked up Moshe Shamir and on Amazon bought his book 2nd hand: WITH HIS OWN HANDS, about his brother Elik. My copy just happened to be signed by the author. Good book and we know the ending is sad from the beginning, but still so good.
Carol, your paintings have changed so much during the past year. I really look forward to them to see what you will do next and am often so pleasantly surprised. (May be warm where you are, but we are under a fluffy blanket of snow promised to last until some time tomorrow. Quite and light like drifting clouds falling onto the pines and dry flower heads. And Dave the Plowguy is coming tomorrow :) Best, Paula
