I did get time today for another one - the man upstairs found a spare time slot Maureen :D

After you mentioned Charles Reid visited here too I thought I'd have an attempt at his loose style :o I just love his paintings but no one can do them like he can - well not me anyway.
Oh well - I'll try something different next week

The drawing took me about an hour - the painting another 90 minutes - 24 x 15 cm - Arches 300g - White Knight watercolours

This was my quick brush and colour tryout on cheap paper - sometimes I think I should just stick to these

Def. caught the sun there Ros!
This is delightful! the right 2/3 especially! Love the colours and the grouping of house/foliage/pillar/signs and people.

That little warm-up piece is truly fresh and delightful - and I know exactly what you mean about them - I do them too and seldom keep the same fresh touch and colour in a bigger version! I wonder why frequently!!!

Love this Ros - you caught the essence of a bright sunny day and a moment in life. Lovely loose painting - no it's not a Charles Reid it's a "Rozzi"!

bright and cheery, just the tonic for the dull old rainy day we have here today...

I LOVE Charles Reid and I can definitely see his influence here. You are so good at capturing the trees and shrubbery, especially that tree to the left on the bigger version. You have given us just enough information to tell the story and let the viewer fill in the gaps. Beautiful.

Love it Ros! The colors are fresh and nice contrast colors of the sunlit, shaded area of the sunny side of the house. Good use of lost and found edges especially in the color sketch. Charlies Reid is good and so are you!
