Thanks for those super images Maureen - too hard to choose just one

I chose the rhododendrons for the crop challenge - another for my WDE journal (Strathmore Visual Journal - watercolour 300 g)

Artline permanent liner - watercolours - about 17 x 14cm - 90 minutes

A great idea inspired by Bonnie - using up some seldom used art supplies - especially fun when they are someones else's supplies (thanks Mary :D ) just for fun with Doc Martins liquid watercolours - drawn with a bamboo pen and sprayed with an atomiser - on the back of an old watercolour complete with pastel smudges. Cheap eh? The brown splodge was the first mark - oops - heh heh. About 20 mins 32 x 22cm

And an oldie from Sue's WDE (Foxyheart 2002). Didn't post this then because I did it for an ATC swap and wanted to wait till it was received. Sorry it's so late but seeing there is no longer a catchup thread I'll pop it in here.

I would like to do another of your great ref's if I have time.

As usual - critiques are always appreciated.

Lovely! I do like the loose treatment on the rhodos and the way the light is on the leaves - gorgeous!
The rooster is great too - he's just had a little shake and there's a feather floating in the air! Magic!

I like the rosebud for Sue too,:)

Please do try another - I'll ask the Man Upstairs to give you a spare slot of time ;):D

Another lovely loose pen and wash sketch in your WDE journal Ros!.....great variations of the values of the flower colors and leaves. Cute perky rooster and a fun method of painting. Delicate and pretty rosebud, almost a glass like quality.

Love the Rhodo painting Ros, reminds one of a horticultural pic for a magazine - the rooster is Just having a bit of a tiff with another and feathers are flying lol - and the rosebud is perfection.

Very pretty flowers Ros, and you caught the rooster's attitude perfectly! I know I would be tempted to make the brown blob into a sunflower myself (although I would probably end up ruining it) . :)
