View Full Version : Friesin's Diary of 2014

This year again I bought a "Carpe diem" (catch the day), offered by one of Germany's important art suppliers. This is a combination of calendar, time schedule and diary. The left page is empty, the paper is quite nice for watercolour with 170gr.
So I m trying to create something on each weekly page which reminds me of an event/ a feeling/ what I was doing then or of the things yet to happen.
Here is my start, the cover of my book first, then the last weeks of 2013.
I used watercolours and watersoluble wax pens.

Looks like a fun way to do some sketching while you seize the day!!! I'll be back to see more.

Well, Im back again:wave:
This is so nice to enjoy:
lying next to my bed so that when I got to bed or leave it I can see my to-do-list at first sight -- plus have a look at my sketch:D
This time I remember the 3 Kings coming here last monday and for the following week I just made a little plan for my next still life.

Excellent when you can make things fun for yourself. Great sketches.

Nice that you can combine your schedule and the sketches!

this is so much fun to do
And a good opportunity to do at least a little bit of watercolouring....
For areal watercolour painting I would have worked more on these, but as they are nothing but very quick sketches I leave them as they are.
Here are the last 2 weeks:
Last week I accompanied my pupils to a local artist who tought them how to print (stryene print). His studio was so fascinating to look at, I couldn't help lurking anywhere.... So I did this little sketch as a souvenir

Here#s a new update after 6 weeks of non posting.
I could criticize every single of them, there are plenty of mistakes in each of them, but its only a sketch book, and it was just fun to do anything with watercolours and pencils.
But I am tough, you may leave your c & C :D

No critique from here. I think they are marvelous sketches. Yes, I suppose they could be better. But, again, these are not supposed to be masterpieces, they are supposed to be sketches. :D
