View Full Version : WDE 03 Jan Portraits in Gouache

Thanks for the great refs Sue, your dogs especially caught my eye. These are both gouache done in a sketch book 170 x 230mm were done within the 2 hour limit. I forgot to note when I started.
In answer to your challenge I am using gouache because I have put a deposit down on a tour to Vence (France) in July where we will be "walking in the footsteps of Matisse" Gouache is the recommended medium to use during the tour so I am trying to familiarise myself with it over the next few months.
Thanks for looking. All C and C welcome.

I will only be there for a week Ros and it does seem like an awful long way to go for such a short time Kate but you have to take your opportunities when they present themselves. I am not looking forward to the 30+ hour plane trip. I am thinking of going via Dubai so I can book into the airport hotel and get a decent rest before completing the journey.
I forgot to add the MI to the title but I am adding another work here anyway. It is a cropped version of Trixie ATC size. It is gouache on watercolour paper 3.5 x 2.5 inches and took about 1 hour

I think they are all great. Love the one of Sue. I do not think that grin would be easy to get, but you got it right on. Can't help wondering what she was thinking when she had that grin. Have a wonderful trip. I think I may have told you before that we have family in Queensland too.
