8.5x11" from a "Nature Sketch" sketchbook with 130-lb paper. Used a Winsor and Newton tray of watercolors.
I'm not sure that I like this. It definitely strayed from the original photo (which I did love), but it was at least an exercise in stretching my creative skills. I tried to impart a sense of depth and texture in the painting.

I really like this, it's a beautiful painting, the colours work really well and you got a sense of depth, well done.

I like this better than the ref. Your challenge was to crop it to make it more appealing to the viewer and you most certainly did this. If you would like to get rid of it (lolol) I would gladly put it on my wall....

Oh my, thank you all for the positive feedback. I really do appreciate it. I love the WDE challenges, and I am hoping to participate in them more. It is a good stretch of the creative skills for me! I really do appreciate the feedback, though! Another friend has already requested the painting, so I am going to pass it along to her. Thank you all again!
