This is one I've reworked a few times. I think I will call it finished.

This is a nice piece - did you use a brush or knife (or a combination of the two)?
Although I've heard the expression used several times without quite understanding what it means, I think I dare say it has a "painterly" quality about it.
What size is it?

Thanks zarathustra!
I started with the brush, and ended with mostly palette knife. One reason that I switched to the knife was that I wanted to lighten the sky behind the tree and I couldn't get the paint to go on without mixing too much with the paint underneath. The palette knife allowed me to make a few strokes without the smearing. Then I took some more texture into the rest of the painting with the knife also.
Oh, I forgot....it's 9x12 on canvas.
I'm off to paint a cedar tree.

I really, really love this. The grass seems to be sparkling, like it's reflecting the sunrise in a million dewdrops. So serene. I'm going to go stare at it some more!

Bobbi, this is a very interesting and unique piece. I've come back to look again and again....at least six or seven times already....and I'm sure I'll be back more!
