started out with a charcoal sketch and then the 'what ifs' started. i scanned the sketch and vectorized it in Xara Designer Pro X9... then started playing! :)

Still learning this software, so i tried to keep things simple, but still took all morning to color a 10 minute sketch!

gazillions of pixels on cyberspace canvas. all freakin' morning!

initial sketch...

the digital thing... it seems i have lost a leaf somewhere :clear:

I like it, even if you did lose a leaf.

Welcome to the world of digital art. It's fun, isn't it?

You have more patience than me, it takes me hours to do the simplest things and it just drives me nuts.
Good on you for sticking with it, it looks great.

Nice sketch and coloring. Your reds are great as are your greens and blending from light to shadow is very good. Good results, yet the time spent would be off putting for me:) For you, it is good experience. I don't have the years left to learn it well.

Mikey, this issue reminds me of what I go thru when people ask if I KNIT... I say: No, I cant see going thru all the inky-dinky liddy-biddy, 5,000,000 hand motions and then you get to the end of the ROW, turn and start over, and you've covered 1/2 inch of (height) space....... I CROCHET cause I cover more space efficiently quickly and don't have to look at it! ...... ... ok.... those who know HOW to knit can make cable sweaters and gorjus intricate patterns, while I whip out flat afghans. You, m'love, are a Knitter. your coloring is joyful and be glad you HAD the time to devote to it.... Do more!!!.....while I was vacuuming today, I found your leaf, but it schwooped it up before I could catch it.... sorry....
