View Full Version : WDE November 29, 2013 - Peppers x 2 (very late)

12-06-2013, 05:41 AM
I started painting these a few days ago, but only got them finished today. Each took me in total maybe about 2.5-3 hours. I am not good at all to keep track of time, especially because I work in small 10-15 minutes sessions most of the time. Thank you so much Joel for the beautiful photos - I have saved some more!

Beautiful paintings. I can picture them side by side or one over the other hanging in the kitchen. Like how you feature one pepper in each one.

Thank you very much for these Oty! (Thank you is "efharisto!" in Greek, right?). Did I tell you I shared a flat with 3 Greeks when I was doing my 1-yr course in the UK? They were a fun bunch and I learned a lot from them.

Now, to your paintings - I love it that one is focused on yellow and the other on red - it would be great to hang them together. I love the deep greens that made the yellow and red stand out. I love the values of the colors giving it a lot of depth!

Great work on both - and thanks for making it just in time!

crispur, DWhite, Paula, Bonnie, Connie, Maureen, tyree, Robert, Kate, Kay - thank you all so much!

Joel - that would be right, ευχαριστώ! I am sure it was fun living with Greek people - they really know how to make you feel good and welcome (am not a Greek either, but living here for over 15 years now)!

Indeed in my little paintings I was trying to have the COI on one of them, and still keep the beautiful variation of colors from the photo. Those two, plus the chili peppers from Scatty's WDE, are now a beautiful collection!

Two really lovely little paintings. The colours really pop and the highlights work well.

Great job Oty. I like the shine and the bright colors.

I know what you mean about keeping time. I work the same way you do and have very little idea how long it took when I'm done.
