View Full Version : Wde 12/7 & 12/8 Images Here

12-05-2013, 11:41 PM
I'll be posting 16 images, please wait until the upload is complete before commenting. You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials - you may use any medium.

For the next two hours, just go for it……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

When you introduce your work, please add a description of size, medium, support (paper, canvas etc) and time taken. If your work is digital, we'd appreciate a description of whether it's freehand drawing/painting, manipulated image or done using the filters available in some programs - you could also say which program you've used.
All are acceptable but we'd like to know the "hows, whys and wherefores"!!

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work during the weekend, for the current WDE, into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!
From the following TUESDAY, you may open a new thread for later work.

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). If you finish a piece after that time, we now run a 'Catch-up' thread in the forum each month where you can post any WDE not completed in its allotted week .... it's a sticky near the top of the forum page.

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage when you can. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

Okay, here we go... First to Leland, Michigan's Fishtown
On the way to Fishtown we go through Manistee and there's this wonderful old barn.... I love old weatherbeaten buildings
and another old one, this time at a Flea Market in Glenn, MI
and this is a friend painting in a garden here in Grand Haven
Sunflowers from the same garden

And more flowers, this time one of my favorites, the Iris
At Millpoint Park in Spring Lake another purple... loosestrife, it's invasive but so pretty
The Plein Air Painters of West Michigan painted at a preserve in Fennville this summer, this is one of the meadows.
and just because the season is coming, a bit of holly from a neighbors garden
And a couple of oldies.... first my mother by the pond in their back yard
next Mother, Irene and we kids after picking wild strawberries

And those angels in the invitation, living statues in Chicago.
In my studio, a still life
And I know some of you like animals: sorry, this is the best I could do.... one of the wild ponies in the Cheasapeake Bay area. I can't spell the name of the island
A statue at Castle Park near Holland, Michigan
And, of course, you knew there'd be a boat... this classic was in a museum I think the Maritime Museum in South Haven but I'm not positive, I took it a couple years ago.
I do have larger of some of these but haven't been able to put them in the library. I'll try again tomorrow but if I don't pm me and I'll e-mail what you want. I know I don't have larger of the old photos.

An easy challenge, add color to the old black and white photos or put that boat in the water.

Wonderful photos Helen! I hope to come up with something more akin to art (and not just Post-it doodle) this weekend.

Great Photos.. I hope I can create some art this weekend. Its cold and rainy here in Chattanooga, but I have to squeeze in a 8 hour shift, a brake job, and some family time. I see some art time on Sunday.
