Here is my quick watercolor, done in an hour, on 8x10 inches in my sketchbook.
Am not happy with the tree shadows and would appreciate any help or links where I can learn to do this right.
This sketch works as my thumbnail and I hope to do a bigger and better version soon..Do help with C&C..Thanks! http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/01-Dec-2013/1274253-Caramaon_Island_WDE_Dec_1-sketch.jpg
Thank you all!
Do share any links on any of the forums to learn the shadows right:crying:
I may not be good with shadows either, but I love the playfulness of the colors and the light and dark pattern! :)

Maybe a little darker shadow on the tree trunk and underside of the main branch
Love the leaf work, nice watercolor feel

It looks very beautiful to me. I love the colors you used especially the dark green foliage.
Sorry I'm no good giving advice on the shadows. Like they say, practice makes perfect.
Thanks so much for participating this week!

Kish this is a nice loose version of the ref.

The color variation in the upper foliage is amazing!!
I'm not so great with shadows and even more uninformed in watercolor....but perhaps softer edges in most of the shadows would help.

Thanks all, again..yes, the more I look at it, I feel thats the effect I wanted..a loose version..
Deano, I agree, softer edges and a duller color would have looked more convincing as shadows...
I love painting foliage, thus the confidence there:-)

There's only that one bit of shadow at the bottom that doesn't quite fit Kish - the rest is absolutely super!
I love the wet in wet foliage and the depth of colour - gorgeous!
I like very much the spontaneity of the color mixes!!! great job!

Love the colours, I'm hopeless with water colours so can't offer any advice on shadows other than making softer edges. Would love to see a larger version.
