View Full Version : WDE - 29 November-01 December - IMAGES HERE!!!

Hello WDE Friends!

I will be posting 16 images (and you may use the invitation photo too ;) ). Please wait until upload is complete before commenting. You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials - you may use any medium.

For the next two hours, just go for it……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

When you introduce your work, please add a description of size, medium, support (paper, canvas etc) and time taken.
If your work is digital, we'd appreciate a description of whether it's freehand drawing/painting, manipulated image or done using the filters available in some programs - you could also say which program you've used.
All are acceptable but we'd like to know the "hows, whys and wherefores"!!

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

NB. To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work during the weekend, for the current WDE, into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!
From the following TUESDAY, you may open a new thread for later work.

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). If you finish a piece after that time, we now run a 'Catch-up' thread in the forum each month where you can post any WDE not completed in its allotted week .... it's a sticky near the top of the forum page.

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage when you can. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

As promised, I will take you to a mini tour of the Philippines and what better way to do that than use the photos of my photo-journalist friend Bobby Wong. Here we go:

First off, here are some rice farmers preparing the seedlings for planting:

A few months later, here's the harvest:

Some seascapes (Bobby's forte):

Caramoan Island

A huge sandbar and an enterprising hut owner:

Loading some firewood:

And the last of Bobby's images, a beautiful sunset.

I will be posting some more so please hang in there . . .:D

Here are some photos for the flower lovers:

Hibiscus or "Gumamela" in the Filipino:

Some peppers I saw at a market stall in Hongkong:

Some animals (photo credit: my friend Dennis who went on a Safari tour in South Africa recently):

Deer or gazelles??

Last batch of photos and the challenge to follow . . .

People and Places:

An interesting fountain in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

Colorful Cassis in France:

So many people but the woman seems to be all alone:

My office colleague Honeybee (yup that's her name):

And lastly: my kids

Now for the challenge: Since it is Thanksgiving in America, try putting an element of something that you are thankful for in your artwork - and tell us about it.

Happy painting!

Thanks you so much for these. I was very interested in how the rice was grown. I love the scenes, it is so beautiful.

Your kids are lovely Joel.
