View Full Version : Happy Holidays Challenge!

This week in the US we celebrate Thanksgiving and it starts the Holiday Season. I recently came across a list of holidays around the world, and there are significantly more in December, than any other time of the year!
So I challenge you to come up with a greeting for whatever holiday you celebrate this time of year or surprise us with a unique twist on a lesser know celebration. Have fun, be creative and stop back often to see what we come up.

To my Artist Friends at Wet Canvas.

Merry Christmas to All.

This was done with PainterX3 and a little Photoshop for the text.

Again, that is very nice Greg!

That's cute Ginger, though I'm not used to seeing grass at Christmas time.

I made a handful of Christmas card designs this year. Here's one of them.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/04-Dec-2013/977987-santa_5x7_words_sm.jpg

He's very jolly Tara, and the background is very pretty.

Well, I finally got my new computer and didn't waste much time getting Painter12 re-installed. Glad they make that pretty easy to do.

Here is my card for this year, using the Marshmallow World picture I painted last year, which I think I posted. I did some cropping and moving and stuff and got my son into it. I know he's tiny but I didn't want to make him look like a giant. This will be 4x6".

And here is the full Marshmallow World picture which I worked on some more after making the card. This one will be 10x8" and I want to upload it to Fineartamerica so I welcome any critique on it.

Both are very nice Michelle, I like your card. I think I would restate the shadows by darkening slightly on the larger one.

Thank you Greg. In what areas? Or do you mean all the shadows?

Michelle, I think I would darken (Just a very little) the cast shadows of the mailbox, snowman, snow banks and just a little behind the house.

Yeah, I guess I could darken a bit more.

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/14-Dec-2013/42008-snow_painter.jpg I've been playing with this idea and have done nothing but struggle with it for the last couple of weeks! I took out the background layer I had been painting, and replaced it with a painting I did about a year ago. I was going to print this for a Christmas Card exchange for my local art societies Christmas party, but I'm not that happy with it.

However, I do want to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season. I hope the new year brings wonderful things for you and your families, and
Happy Painting to All!

This is nice and really cute. Maybe the landscape is angling too much. What if you could bring it up on the left side?

Happy and Healthy Holidays to you too. I like your card design as it is, if a Snow Man can paint, then he can paint on a hill. Very nice, Merry Christmas.
