Hi guys i am painting this for a friend , it is on 30 x 40 water colour canvas and as you can see in the pic i have left a border on each side.Problem is I dont know what to do with it!Should I colour in completely to bring out the yellow,s ect , thinking of jet black?Or do a graduated wash on each side?
Thanks Andrewhttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/30-Oct-2013/1340173-DSCF3348_2.jpg

If it were on paper, I'd say crop it and buy or make a mat to fit it. Since it's a canvas, I'm thinking you might need to make your painting a bit larger. Keep going on each side. ??

If it is a stretched canvas extending is your only option, but if it can be cut I suggest you crop it to the painting.

Andrew, I have moved your thread to the Watercolor Studio for the help you are requesting. The Watercolor Gallery is for finished paintings only.

Nice beginnings on your painting. . .good suggestions ^^^.

OH boy, I'd vote for crop too if it were on paper. Unless you can find a frame where the mat would cover it then you'll have to extend the painting to the edges.
