Hey everyone!

I"m new to the WC forum and thought it would be around time to become more Active:) So I decided to keep a sketchbook! I haven"t photographed a lot of my work yet, but here are a few things I did a few weeks ago. I"ll upload more soon:) 100% open, painfully-honest critiques are more then welcome:)

Image 1 is a 'infamous' Bargue drawing. Or in other Words, a copy of a lithograph done by the french artist Charles Bargue. Painters such as Van Gogh and Picasso have done multiple copies and stated in letters that they felt great improvement from them. I'm currently working on Another bargue copy.

Image 2 and 3 are figure drawings I've done about a month ago. They were 2 hour poses with a break every 20 min.

Hi Tobias and welcome! That hand reminded me of the workshop I took at the ultra-traditional Academy of the Fine Arts in PhillyPA. We spent un-told hours drawing fragments of Greek statuary. Feet. Hands. An elbow. That's the old fashioned way to learn drawing. I mean centuries old. (sigh) They did have a twenty foot tall reproduction of the Michelangelo David statue in Florence that was quite nifty, however.

You're wise to work from life, from the model, rather than from books, photographs, or the internet. IMO you learn twice as fast when you work from life.

I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks for sharing!!

Here are some more drawings:) I'm starting to do some stuff from my imagination, which I will upload soon, its so interesting how that is a completely different, yet related skill to drawing from Life.

Anyway here are some more figure poses. I'm trying to keep them as structured as I can, including nothing more then needed to. It's a really touch challenge, but so much fun at the same time!
