View Full Version : The red village

In the coastal strip of western India, the soil is a bright brick red. This color permeates everything - all exposed surfaces , rocks - even the laterite used for houses is the same color . With greens , it gives a fantastic contrast - I tried to capture this atmosphere in this freewheeling interpretation. Thanks in advance for viewing - C & C welcome !

This is great. Colors are wonderful and just the right amount of detail to say everything it needs to say. Pam:wave:

Should have added: A lot of Aussie outback towns have this hue, with the red soil and the red dust ... Unfortunately minus the green! It's too dry for green.

I've missed your posts!!! This is a lovely piece and the collection of bright pure colours makes me salivate just as I would over a brand new box of pastels :)
